A nice place to have brunch in Berkeley (haven’t tried anything else):
1799 4th St, Berkeley
CA – (510) 526-4429, USA

We had two house coffees ($2.25 each) and a hot chocolate ($2.75):

“Eggs blackstone” ($8.95, muffins, poached eggs, breakfast potatoes) seem to only be served on weekends:

And we had two “combos” ($9.95 each), a rather classic one (pancakes, eggs, bacon):

andthe same one but with blue corn pancakes:

I haven’t tried the “eggs blackstone”, but all the pancakes were really good; blue corn adds a bit of originality both in appearance and taste, although these pancakes are not that far from the regular one. The eggs were well cooked, but the bacon was really dry (that’s probably the way it should be, but I really don’t like it very much — too hard and crispy). The pancakes had a little pecan butter on them (in addition to the maple syrup), not sure whether this is common or not but I loved it. Snippets from the menu:
