Well, if there actually is any such info (about burnproof damaging your CD), I guess Ubuntu should let up know…
Overall, I guess burnproof should be standardized, and that option should be there, but checked by default…

@Linux, there are different tempers, Linux is simply for people who have a lot of time to spend their brain on learning the OS. most of them cant understand they are subjected to intended wastage of time, which is not the most productive thing to do

Actually, there is some info that sometimes using burnproof can damage your CD while not telling it.

There is an easer method to record and archive Gmail. You can use a hardware solution to automatically do this task for you. Like the freedom9 Internet content recorder . Simply open and log into your Gmail account, and the icr does the rest. It will log all emails in your inbox, plus it will record any incoming and out going emails to your Gmail account. You can still backup your email to a single file if that is easer for you.
